Tips for better ASCII art

• High-contrast GIFs work best. Simple shapes on a plain background convert cleanly.
• Raise the contrast if the result looks washed out, or try the Dense character set for more detail.
• Use Invert when you'll paste the text somewhere with a light background.
• Wider isn't always better. 60–120 characters fits most chats and code comments.

Questions

Is my GIF uploaded?

No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser. The page doesn't even have a server to send it to.

Does it keep the animation?

Yes. Every frame is converted and plays back with the original GIF's frame timing.

Can I keep the colours?

Yes. Switch to Original colour to tint each character with the colour of that part of the image.
